The Information Engineering (IE) Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has therefore decided to replace their existing Wi-Fi infrastructure with P2MT's award-winning MeshRanger series 802.11n dual-band Wi-Fi routers. The first phase of replacement has been completed in February, 2013. In this phase, the department has chosen to replace the existing Wi-Fi routers in the most needed facilities with highest densities, including some laboratories, seminar rooms and conference rooms. As a result, the professors, staffs and the students can now all enjoy the less interfered, higher density, fairer, and dual-band Wi-Fi service. Thanks to P2MT's patent-pending Wi-Fi technologies, in the testing done soon after the replacement, the user throughput improvement is measured to be over 500% higher than the measured data obtained immediately before the replacement.

We are proud to announce that P2 Mobile Technologies Limited has received the Silver Award of the Hong Kong ICT Award 2012 -- Best Ubiquitous Networking (Mobile Enterprise Solution). Here are the comments from the Judge Panel:
"The device is a high performance Wi-Fi backbone network router that has a significant transmission speed advantage over its competition currently available on the market now. While the patent pending wireless mesh network technology is proprietary, it is encouraging to see a local start-up company to come up with the technology with this kind of performance."
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the ICT Award committee for organizing such a great event, and the judge panel for their professional comments. Thank you.

Hong Kong, China — January 11, 2012 — P2 Mobile Technologies (P2MT) today announces that it has received the official approval of the Patent Application Grant (PAG) for its Back-N technology from the Innovation and Technology Fund of Hong Kong SAR Government. The amount granted is HKD$150,000 (~USD$19,230).
The research team in P2 Mobile Technologies led by Dr. Patrick Lam, Professor Peter Chong and Professor Ivan Ho has invented the Back-N technology to enable the truly 802.11n Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) backbone with which the WMN users can now enjoy an end-to-end bandwidth of the full 300Mbps within the entire WMN. That is, many bandwidth demanding applications such as video surveillance and location tracking can now take the full advantage of 802.11n’s high throughput as well as WMN’s extreme flexibility. The Back-N technology is important to the success of the market acceptance of WMN because the user’s perceived performance can now be significantly improved (close to 6-fold!) over the previous implementations. The Back-N technology, along with many other advanced features aimed to enhance the reliability, convenience and performance of WMN, is incorporated into all of our product lines. The patent will be filed in US and PRC for technology protection immediately. For more information of the technology, please visit http://www.p2mt.com/downloads.
The PAG is a funding scheme to assist local companies and individuals to apply for patents of their own inventions. The Grant is administered by the Innovation and Technology Commission with Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) as the implementation agent. Applications will be processed through the implementation agent on a confidential basis. Applicants must provide the implementation agent with details of their idea or inventions. A patent search-cum-technical assessment will be required. Based on the result of the patent search-cum-technical assessment conducted by the implementation agent, the Innovation and Technology Commission will decide whether the applications should be approved. For more information about PAG, please visit http://www.itc.gov.hk/en/funding/pag.htm.

Hong Kong, China — December 23, 2011 — P2 Mobile Technologies (P2MT) today announces that it has entered into a partnership agreement with Morning China Holdings Limited (MCHL) in which MCHL has committed to sell RMB¥9 Million (~USD$1.43 Million) worth of P2MT's world's fastest Wireless Mesh Network equipments to the large carriers in China per year.
Through this agreement, MCHL would enjoy an exclusive distributorship for the period of one year in a number of provinces and cities in Northern China including Beijing.
MCHL is a Hong Kong based technology distribution company which mainly distributes world class telecommunication technologies to China, Australia, Southeast Asia and Middle East countries. Throughout the one year term of this partnership agreement, MCHL will market and sell P2MT's world's fastest Wireless Mesh Networking equipments to China to serve the urgent needs of 3G-Offload market requested by many large carriers in China.
According to Dr. Patrick Lam, CEO of P2MT, "3G-Offload is a huge market opportunity for Wireless Mesh Networking (WMN) products due to its extreme flexibility and robustness in deploying a fully wireless backbone of large-scale Wi-Fi network. However, 3G-Offload also requires a backbone bandwidth that is large enough to support thousands of simultaneous user sessions. Therefore, with the previous WMN technologies, which provides a maximum of 54Mbps wireless mesh backbone, the resultant network is simply not useful for any meaningful 3G-Offload deployment. Our world's first and only truly 802.11n based WMN backbone technologies, which provides an end-to-end bandwidth of 300Mbps, fills this gap in a perfect way."
